ABOUT US

Hi! My name is Lauren Flanagan, and I am a senior college student with an English major and an education minor. I am creating this project to help alleviate book scarcity in classrooms because I am passionate about English and education. I hope to raise awareness about the lack of access and resources in Philadelphia schools through this project.
I am the Vice President of Sigma Tau Delta English Honor Society at my college, and I am an editor for our literary magazine, the Lantern. These roles of mine allow me to use other platforms to spread the word of my project and reach a larger audience.

Hello! I’m Amy Litofsky, a Senior at Ursinus College who is double majoring in English and Media & Communication Studies with minors in Creative Writing and Film Studies. I’m also the social media editor of the college’s English Department, the production editor of the Lantern literary magazine, and the President of Sigma Tau Delta. I always had a love of reading books in school and want to make sure that children today have the same access to them as I did. So, with this project I hope to raise awareness about book scarcity and donate books to schools that need them, specifically books that have strong representation for all the kids reading them.
